Privacy and Personal Data
This page explains what information eskidatca.tr collects, where it goes and how long it is kept. Plain language was chosen over legal boilerplate; the text matches exactly what the system actually does.

What we do not collect
This section comes first on purpose, because it is the most important: your IP address is never stored, at any layer. It is used only as a short-lived in-memory counter key when you submit a form (how many submissions came from one address in an hour); it is never written to the database or to a file, and it is lost when the server restarts.
There is no browser fingerprinting, no advertising identifier, no cross-site tracking and no profiling. Your location is never sent to the server: in the "Village Explorer" feature GPS is processed on your device only, and your progress stays in your browser's local storage. The e-postcard is generated entirely in your browser; the name and message you type are never transmitted.
No personal data is ever sold or used for advertising or marketing.
What we collect and why
You do not need to provide anything to simply browse the site. Data is collected only when you deliberately fill in a form.
Guestbook entries, photos, nature observations, dish and memory contributions: your name, optionally your country/city, the text you write and the image you upload. Purpose: publishing it on the site after review. Your name appears next to your contribution.
Producer/business applications and event submissions: the business or event name, description, the contact channels you provide (phone, WhatsApp, Instagram, website, e-mail), address/location, opening hours and licence details where applicable. Purpose: publishing a public profile after review. This information is public so that visitors can reach you.
Reservation and accommodation requests: your name, phone number, optional e-mail and note, dates and party size. Purpose: passing your request to the relevant business. The site takes no payment, charges no commission and is not a party to the booking; it only forwards the request.
Satisfaction feedback: a rating, optional role and message. It is anonymous, never published, and used only as an aggregate average.
Notification subscription: the anonymous push address generated by your browser. It contains no identity information; you can end the subscription from your browser settings at any time.
Legal basis
Contributions and applications you submit for publication rely on your explicit consent. Submission is not possible without ticking the consent box; the moment consent was given and the version of the consent text are stored alongside your record. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Reservation and accommodation requests are processed as necessary for the relationship you are asking us to initiate. Satisfaction feedback and aggregate counters contain no personal data.
Where data goes
Contributions awaiting review are forwarded to the moderator over Telegram. For reservation requests this notification includes your name and phone number, because that is what allows the request to reach the business.
Questions you type into the AI guide are sent to Google's Gemini service to generate an answer. These conversations are not stored on our server. We recommend not typing personal information into the guide.
Promotional descriptions of approved business profiles are sent to the same service to be translated into the other languages. Guestbook messages and community events are deliberately not translated; they are published in the language they were written in.
Your notification subscription operates through the push infrastructure of your browser vendor. The site is served behind Cloudflare infrastructure for security and speed.
Where visitor statistics are measured, a cookieless solution that does not identify individuals is used; no personal data or full IP address is retained.
Retention
Published contributions and profiles remain online until you ask for their removal. Rejected submissions are kept for a period as a moderation record and are deleted on request.
Contact details in reservation and accommodation requests are deleted automatically within 90 days of the request being concluded. Where a request moves into the innkeepers' mutual-aid pool, the guest's phone number is deleted automatically after 30 days.
What you type into the AI guide is never stored. Satisfaction feedback contains no identifying information and remains only as aggregate statistics.
Cookies
There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site. That is also why there is no cookie consent banner.
Only strictly necessary cookies are used: one remembering your chosen language, one session cookie created when signing in to the admin panel, and one created when signing in to the innkeepers' network. None of them are shared with third parties.
Your rights
You have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed, to request information, to have it corrected or erased, to withdraw your consent and to object to processing.
Simply write to [email protected]. To remove a published contribution, mentioning the name you used and the approximate date will speed things up.
For business and event submissions you can update your record yourself at any time — or ask for its removal — using the private edit link given to you after submission.
